This page is devoted entirely to my ever faithful best mate, Buster.
Born 31/12/2003, Buster has been an absolute rock during the lowest times off my illness. He has always been there for me, never failing to give every bit of love that he possesses.
All that Buster asks for is two good walks and two good meals a day. What he gives in return far outweighs anything that I give to him.
At times I think it would be lovely to have another Cocker Spaniel about the house, there is truth in the saying that one is never enough.
Since bringing Buster home and introducing him to heaps of friends, both human and canine, he has never growled, snarled or snapped at one of them. In fact I can honestly say that he is the most gentle dog I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

This is Buster after catching his first rabbit. He was so proud he had to bring it all the way home for everyone to see. Buster has managed to dispatch many rabbit’s since, the majority of them being struck with Myxomatosis, a really horrible disease, so I have no problem whatsoever with Buster catching and dispatching these bunnies. It is a far quicker and much less painful death for them.
Being a dog with fairly short legs, Buster has not got the speed to catch a healthy rabbit, the only chance being if an inexperienced rabbit panics whilst being chased and gets itself cornered. Buster has had one or two rabbits by running then down over a long distance, one thing he does posses is incredible stamina. Also, being soft mouthed, as most Spaniels are, he does not actually kill the rabbit. In these instances the rabbit dies very quickly from shock.

Oh boy, he was such a cute little puppy. He would have been around 13 to 14 weeks old when this photo was taken. One of the strange things about him, his eyes were blue up until this time in his life, they then turned into the lovely hazel brown that they are today.
He was an incredibly good puppy, although he cried at night for the first week or so, which to be fair was only to be expected, but he never did any damage in the house. He was so easy to toilet train too.
Being good in the garden was a different matter though, anything and everything was fair game, to be either pulled up or dug up out of the ground. He did make make me chuckle all the same.

This photo was taken when Buster was around four months old. One of his favourite past-times was helping out in the garden. Whatever chores that had to be done around the garden, it was a safe bet that Buster would be somewhere close at hand to either pull up what had just been planted or just happily chew away at the stems of the new plants until there was nothing left to chew. In this photo you may have noticed that, fortunately, Buster has got hold of a dead twig although it still didn’t stop him giving it his best shot. Nowadays, the garden is pretty much safe from the ravages of Buster, he only goes in there when he feels the need to race around with whichever of his soft toys has taken his fancy at that moment. Talking of soft toys, it would be fair to state that Buster is probably very well blessed in that department. He has two large wooden boxes full of soft toys, squeaky toys and general playthings. He just helps himself from the boxes.

This is Buster playing with four mates we met whilst on camping trips around the country. Buster has always been able to make friends very easily due to his lovely gentle nature, his love for life and, of course, his never ending enthusiasm for anything that life has to throw at him. He is simply just full of life, love and total contentment.

And this here is the result of some tom foolery when I was messing about with Photoshop (a computer aided design program).
The subject matter is Buster with yet another of his mates, this time it is Hogan. The picture was taken when Hogan, a solid black Cocker Spaniel, was only a small puppy. At this stage of his life all he wanted to do was to hang onto Buster’s ears.
Here he is giving Buster’s right a ear a very hard, but playful, tug. As you can see, Buster just stands there and takes it all in his stride.
To finally get to this finished effect I went through various stages within Photoshop. First I applied a textured brushstroke, then I applied a liquidising effect and finished with adding extra lighting effects. I’m quite proud of it.
